Here at Duffryn Mawr Cottages we have 4 units on offer. Two cottages, one apartment and a super cute Shepherd's Hut. We are located in the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan, set in rural surroundings but with excellent links to Cardiff, Cowbridge, Bridgend so easy access to all the sites, shopping, great pubs, beaches, theatres, museums etc.

The accommodation

We have Kingfisher Cottage which has two bedrooms, one twin and one double (king size bed), all beds are made up with cotton rich linen. A spacious bathroom with over bath shower. A fully equipped kitchen/living area.

Swallow Cottage that has one bedroom (king size bed), cotton rich linen. A spacious bathroom with over bath shower and fully equipped kitchen/living area. Included is Swallow's Nest which is a quirky hand built shepherd hut which has bunk beds, flat screen TV and a desk so ideal for kids or working remotely.

The Loft is our two bedroom apartment. Upstairs is our family bedroom which has a double and single bed, the living area, and the fully equipped kitchen. Downstairs is the twin bedroom and the bathroom with over bath shower.

The Hideaway is our super cosy shepherd hut ideal for a romantic getaway. It has a pull down double bed, a fold out table, a kitchenette with a shower room. Out on the deck you can enjoy looking over the beautiful secret garden whilst enjoying a nice glass of something cold.

All the accommodations have use of a number of patios and The Secret Garden. Bbq and/or fire pits are available upon request.

The location

We are located in the Vale of Glamorgan just a couple of miles from the M4 with great access to local networks. A 2 minute drive to the village of Pendoylan, 5 minute drive to the village of Peterston Super Ely.

Just 4 miles away is a large retail park with a good selection of shopping.

The village of Pontyclun is a few miles away where there is a park and ride train station.

Travel information

From the east you need to take J34 off the M4 and take first exit off roundabout.

From the west you need to take J34 off the M4 and take 3rd exit off roundabout

Then take first right signposted to Pendoylan.

Keep on this road for about a mile, passed Hensol Golf Academy, round an S bend until you come to a crossroads, you need to turn left here. (Guest house on the right, cottage on left). Follow the lane down for about half a mile until it levels out and you will see us on the right hand side. (dark pink).

If you are using a Sat Nav DO NOT take the first left into Brynhelygan Farm drive, keep coming until you see Clawdd Coch guest house and turn left here.

From the A48 take the turning to Pendoylan off Sycamore Cross, right handed if coming from Cardiff, left handed if coming from Bridgend. Follow the lane to a fork and take the left hand towards Pendoylan. Keep straight all the way down the lane, through the village and past the war memorial hall on your left. Straight after this you will come to a crossroads with a stone barn conversion on your right. Take an immediate right at this and follow the lane down until it levels out, you will see us on the right hand side (dark pink).

Pull into the drive and The Loft is directly to your right. You can park just in front under the conker tree but please don't park too close to the office window. You will see the door to The Loft on the right.
